“Approximately 1.2 billion people in the world live in extreme poverty (less than one dollar per day). Poverty creates ill-health because it forces people to live in environments that make them sick, without decent shelter, clean water or adequate sanitation.” – World Health Organization
We are running a successful medical voucher program, giving many vulnerable and sick children in Gondar access to otherwise unaffordable healthcare. For this program we work together with local hospitals and healthcare centers.
In the last year we support many street children and children from poor families who were critically ill and who can’t afford clinic fees or the required medication. We provided coupons to 193 children. And in the future for many more!
A visit to the health care centers comes hand in hand with transportation. We arrange transport for those in need from and to the healthcare center.
